Singer Pace Hunt: Over 3,000 Youngsters Apply for Lasith Malinga's Fast Bowling Programme

The Singer Pace Hunt, a joint initiative between Singer Sri Lanka and cricket icon Lasith Malinga, has attracted extraordinary interest from aspiring fast bowlers nationwide. More than 3,000 young players between the ages of 14 and 22 submitted applications within days of the programme's announcement, overwhelming organisers with the response. The programme aims to identify and nurture raw fast-bowling talent from rural and semi-urban areas, providing professional coaching, fitness training, and mentoring sessions with Malinga himself. Selected candidates will undergo trials across multiple provinces before a final cohort is chosen for intensive residential training. Malinga expressed excitement about the initiative, stating it was his personal mission to give back to Sri Lankan cricket and unearth the next generation of pace bowlers who could represent the country at the highest level.
